Healthy Smoothies

I drink a lot of smoothies! They are an easy way to get all of your nutrients in one glass. I have complied a list of my key ingredients that I like to add to any smoothie. I don’t add all of these every time, but I will choose a few depending on what other ingredients I am using.

I always add either flax (1 tpsp) or spirulina (1 tsp-1 tbsp). When you add spirulina into any smoothie it will turn your smoothie a dark green (fyi).

Flax: Provides Fiber, Lignans & Omega-3 Fats

Spirulina: Supports cardiovascular health, eye & brain health, boosts energy and immunity

If I have just worked out, or need a more satisfying smoothie I will add protein.

MRM Whey Protein: This is what I use after working out. It is full of protein and helps me build muscle! The dutch chocolate is delicious!

-no artificial sweeteners
-no artificial flavors
-1000 mg l-glutamine added per serving
-hormone free and bse free

Youtheory Collagen and Whey Protein: I like to add a little scoop of this to any smoothie to sweeten it up. It also has a TON of health benefits.

-amino acids
-added joint formula
-maximum absorption
-stronger hair & nails
-great for ligaments & tendons

Amazing Meal: This is full of raw fruits, veggies, and protein. I add this powder to a smoothie when I want a meal. It has a gritty texture so make sure you add some fruit or yogurt to counter it.

-usda organic
-raw, gluten free, vegan
-10 g protein
-6 g fiber
-100% plant based ingredients

Another great thing to add is a nut butter. This will add a lot of creaminess to your smoothie and protein. You only need to add a small amount. I usually use a tbsp.

MaraNatha Almond Butter
PB2: This is a powdered peanut butter with a lot less calories!

I use a Vitamix to blend my smoothies!
