Time for some fall inspiration! I am loving that it has been a little cloudy lately, but it is still hot. This summer has been unreal. Anyone else? Don’t get my wrong, I love the summer and warm weather, but when it is over 100 degrees for a whole month I’m not a happy camper! You know how they say the sun makes you in a good mood? I think it’s the opposite for me. Overcast skies are heaven on earth. Probably because it is rare here haha. Seattle I miss you! Okay anyways, enough about the weather, let’s talk fashion. So what I love about fall is the colors. Warm, earthy tones are my favorite this time of year. Navy, camel, olive and burgundy are some of my favorites. I also like sticking to basics in the fall. Start with a pair of distressed jeans, add in a basic tee and then start adding layers. A cute cardigan, hat and booties will make you look instantly chic. What are you all most excited for this fall? P.S. I actually got a hot chai latte the other day and it was bomb! I’m not quite ready for pumpkin yet!
Today I put together an outfit that is super warm, but also fashionable at the same time. I love layering different fabrics and textures to give a lived-in look. I usually stick to neutrals and add in accents of deeper tones like hunter green and navy blue. Starting off with basics like distressed pants and a chunky knit gives you the freedom to accessorize. Then you can throw on a textured coat, scarf and beanie to bundle up! Gold jewelry and a structured bag are always classic and will pull your entire outfit together. It has been pretty cold here lately, but still super sunny so I couldn’t forget a great pair of sunnies!
Hey guys! Have you gone grocery shopping yet?? I have so much to do today…fingers crossed it can all happen! I hope you all have a wondering holiday weekend. I wanted to show you an outfit that was inspired by the fall…obviously! I love these new booties I got from Windsor, they literally go with any outfit. I also was inspired to try layering up my shirts. PS. This outfit was way too warm for these southern California days. It is supposed to be 85 today. Really?? I am so missing the Seattle mist right now! But I do love how this look turned out. I hope you guys love it too!
I recently spent the day with Style 20/20 in Newport Beach. We had a taste of the new Style 20/20 Academy they have developed. It is a series of classes for those of you who have aspirations of becoming a stylist. Style 20/20 will give you all the tools you need in order to live out your styling dreams and make it a lifelong career. Check out their website for more details!
We first learned about all the new trends that have been spotted on the runway recently. Leopard, mod and velvet were a few of my favorites. One great and easy way to incorporate trends into your wardrobe, is to use accessories. If you aren’t comfortable wearing full on velvet pants, find a top with velvet detailing. I love the look of a luxurious leopard coat, but it’s a little too much for my everyday style. What I like to do is wear a pair of leopard ballet flats. You still feel like you are staying on trend, but can feel comfortable in your look.
A great tip on styling is to take time to understand your client. Instead of pouring what you love onto someone else, find pieces for them that fit in with their lifestyle. We had some fun learning how to style a rockstar. The main thing with working with musicians, is to know they have strong senses of what they like and dislike. The great part is you can push the limits a little more. The Style 20/20 Academy will look something like this. A very hands on experience, learning the ropes of working with all types of clients.
We finished the day styling our own ‘rockstar’ outfit. We chose our selections from a wide variety of pieces from Lip Service Cult, The great Frog LA, and Peavey. I went with an outfit that had bits of my style, but a few more edgier pieces. I’m a huge fan of using neutrals, but mixing it up with different textures. This coat adds so much interest over the crochet slip dress. Adding in some black and gold accessories completes the look. I loved looking at what everyone else chose for their outfits. Mixing fabrics from leather to velvet added so much dimension to each look.
It is kiiinda starting to feel like fall. The mornings and evenings are definitely cooler, but the afternoons are still really warm. So my way of feeling like the seasons are changing is to layer. I can get away with wearing my summer dresses if I just add in some tights. Plus, I am so pasty white I can’t handle to see too much skin. Another thing I am loving is leather, lots of it. I usually would wear my black leather booties, but I need to step away from them and give them a break! So I added in my fab booties by Jeffrey Campbell to spice up this look. I hope you are all having a wonderful month. Can you believe it is almost November? Unreal. Talk soon guys!
Hi friends! I have pulled together my top pics for jackets this fall. I separated it into four categories. Each type of these jackets are so versatile and will keep you both warm and fashionable this season. Let me know in the comments which type you are most looking forward to wearing. Happy shopping!Leather 1/2/3
Happy Wednesday everyone!! I wanted to let you all know about a sale going on at Loft right now. There are a ton of clothes that are 50% off full price and it’s just in time for fall. Here are my top pics out of the sale items, and I am slightly obsessed with them. You all probably know I own a LOT of Loft clothing/accessories. My Mom has worked there for a while and she always lets me know when good stuff is out. I was shocked to see how cute these sale items were. They all are great transition pieces from summer to fall. Make sure to check everything out before it’s gone! (If you are in Temecula, CA stop by and say hi to my Mom!) Check it out HERE
Hey guys! So I am heading to Disneyland tonight and then spending the entire day at both parks on Friday. I go with Andrew’s family once a year…a tradition that I am so onboard with! I put together a typical outfit I wear when going somewhere like Disneyland. I tend to always wear jean shorts, comfy tank top or t-shirt and simple accessories. Usually I will wear a watch and a delicate necklace that won’t get in the way on rides. I also like to wear sneakers to stay comfy, but I do wear flip flops a lot (don’t wear sneakers if you are planning on going on the water rides). Also, make sure to wear a crossbody bag! Keep it lightweight and semi-small so you can take it everywhere. A zipper is always a plus too! When I am at a theme park, the last thing I want to worry about is my outfit. So by keeping things easy and minimal you can focus more on what ride to go on next!
Here are some pictures from last weeks blogger brunch I attended. It was held in Santa Monica at Areal Restaurant. It was great meeting all types of bloggers who all live in southern California. The food was delicious, from bacon wrapped dates to carrot cake…oh my gosh it was amazing (I took some cake to go)! We also got hooked up with some goodies. At the end of the post I show what was inside of that massive box. Thanks to SoCal Blogger Society and LA Brunchers for making this event possible!
^These products look amazing! I can’t wait to try them out! Huge thanks to Taya Beauty!^
This past Saturday, I attended the Bri Seeley Fall Line Preview. It was held at a gorgeous hacienda style home in the back courtyard. As we arrived we had our choice between three different cocktails provided by Om. They are an organic pre-mixed cocktail and super delicious, my favorite was the lemon ginger. There were also gorgeous mini pink champagne cupcakes with edible glitter…love! As we sat down in the courtyard, the models came out one by one wearing a piece from the new fall line. Each and every piece was beautiful! Huge thank you to Bri for this lovely event!
