I’m so excited to share with you our nursery for our twin girls! They were born December 16th at 1:08 and 1:09 and life has definitely changed around here! I had so much fun decorating this room for them. It was nice to be able to go slightly more feminine and girly than the rest of our house. I added touches of rose gold and floral patterns to give it a vintage vibe, and added in some wood elements to keep it balanced. The other thing I wanted to do was decorate it so that they can grow into the space. I didn’t want to have too much of a ‘theme’ because I knew both the girls and myself would get tired of it quick. Instead, I opted for a look that was more classic and simple. A lot of the furniture will work as the girls grow up so we don’t have to keep buying new things all the time. I hope you all enjoy the room as much as I do! And thank you all so much for the kind words on my social media accounts wishing my family well. It means so much to me!

Finally I am here to share my baby shower photos with you all! It was such a beautiful (and hot) day with so much love! Our shower was held in Fallbrook, CA at Myrtle Creek Nursery. There was a tented area where we set everything up. But I’d recommend coming by this nursery for lunch sometime because it is such an adorable spot. You order lunch and it’s put in a picnic basket for you to take anywhere on the nursery to enjoy. We had around 45 people attend the shower from friends to family. The main thing I wanted was a romantic and rustic vibe, and it truly was just that. My mom found the pink table runners on amazon, and her and a friend made the plant party favors. The tags were from Etsy. Our plates, flatware and glassware were from Casa de Perrin and completely made the tables! My dad cut a ton of eucalyptus from their backyard and we used that on top of the runners along with homemade flower arrangements in mason jars.


My dress is from Asos maternity and I absolutely loved it. I ordered a size up (because I’m gaining a whole lot of weight with these twins). But I think I’ll be able to where it post babies too. And my shoes are from Sole Society, which I where with pretty much everything. Where heals was a big deal for me. They came off right when the shower was over, don’t get me wrong! My feet were aching bad! Lately my whole body has been super achy and I am ready for the babies to come out already!

Bedroom Decor Update

Hey guys! I’m so excited to share this post with you. Our bedroom is practically complete now so I wanted to show you our ‘nook’ area. Before we had nothing here and I had envisioned something very calming and relaxing. I wanted it to be a sitting area, but also a place for a large mirror so I could get a good look at all my outfits! Mirrors also make spaces look much larger. Our bedroom is pretty monochromatic so I wanted a few pops of color, but nothing overwhelming. I went with this photo of Venice for some added color. Pillows are also an easy way to change up the look and feel of a room. I hope you all love it as much as I do! ^^This chair is exactly what I wanted. It is big enough to lounge in, but doesn’t take up too much space. I love how the legs give it a formal feel, yet the back cushion keeps it casual.pouf and mirrorsitting area

^^This picture is so dreamy. I could stare at it all day. Venice is one of my top places I want to visit, so having this image in our room keeps that dream always visible! I chose the champagne silver frame because I felt the silver would be too stark and we don’t have any gold in our room as it is. This was a happy medium. ^^This mirror is everything! It’s not on the Joss & Main site anymore (I linked a similar one down below) but I would check often to see if it comes back! I first saw a similar mirror at Neiman Marcus and Horchow, but it was way too expensive. One morning I saw it on Joss & Main and pretty much bought it 5 minutes later! I love how thick the frame is. Merry Christmas!


Merry Christmas Eve everyone! This morning I wanted to share some pictures of our holiday decor! I felt like this was such a long holiday season full of parties, decorating and so much sugar! Andrew and I were at Disneyland the other day and it was swamped with people. I think we hit a wall and realized we need a break from both Disney (I know shocking!), and also people. Christmas functions become a bit overwhelming at times and I think January is such a great time to regain your energy and clarity for the new year. So with that said, time to show you some pictures of our decor. It isn’t a ton, but we have been in apartments up until this year so I never really bought too many things for Christmas. I might go shopping after Christmas to get some more things for next year!

We got a fake tree this year from Lowes. I wasn’t even planning on it, but when we saw how real it looked we thought it was a no-brainer. We ended up getting the 7.5 foot one and it fits perfectly. I also love not having to water it! Our tree skirt is from West Elm, but unfortunately is sold out. But I love the faux fur look. For our whole tree theme it ended up looking very cozy and cabin-like. Reindeer and flannel wrapping paper will do that! (I found all my wrapping paper from Target this year.)withkendra.com

We found new stockings this year from West Elm (again, out of stock…so sorry!). The green one is for our sweet pup and those were the ones we used to use in our old apartments! I found those at Target three years ago. withkendra.com

I am a huge fan of putting greenery everywhere possible! It adds a cozy feel and is super easy. I also love that you can make it your own by sticking some metallic beads or pinecones in it. You can see I don’t like to use very bright decorations. I like them to just blend with our normal decor.withkendra.com

Getting Festive


So I’m fully aware that it’s still November, but I’m so ready for Christmas. I walked through Target yesterday and couldn’t stop staring at all their holiday decor. If you like metallics and white, you need to go take a look at their new things. I was just scrolling through Joss & Main, which has become a morning ritual now, and got sucked into the Christmas stuff. I even took out some holiday decor pieces I had in storage last night and tried to put them up super nonchalant so Andrew wouldn’t be able to tell. Here is my compromise, I’m decorating ‘wintery’ right now. No santa’s or red and green is up in our home, just whites and metallics. So if you want to start decorating but be secretive about it, I came up with some ‘winter’ picks that will get you in the mood, but won’t make you look like a Christmas freak. (Confession: Michael Buble Holiday is currently playing on my Pandora.)

Bedroom Mood Board

All we have in our bedroom currently is a linen tufted bed, teal tufted settee (we had it custom upholstered, but the one above is similar) and mismatched bedside tables. I wanted to put together some decor ideas that I’ve been really into lately. If you guys have seen any of our home vlogs, you have seen our bedroom/closet layout. I want to put a rug like the one above in the closet space to make it look more like a closet and make it look like it’s own room. I also want to put that oval ottoman in the middle of it so we can use it as seating and fill out the room more. For the wall opposite our bed, we have our settee there now. I want to put a gold floor length mirror next to it that leans against the wall along with a little side table. The black chests in the photo are what I’m thinking of for our bedside tables. Our room is pretty big and our current tables look really tiny. I also like the idea of having all that extra storage space. As far as style goes, I want our room to be soft and romantic, but with some moroccan and rustic elements to keep it from looking too stuffy. Let me know what you guys think! Paint It White!


Hey guys! So today I wanted to show you the magic of paint. White paint specifically. When we moved into our new home, all the windows were trimmed out, which I definitely think adds a lot of character. However, the trim was a dark stained wood. A little 80’s for my taste. I really want our home to have a very airy and spacious feel, so painting all the trim white was first on my list of to do’s. I headed to Home Depot and picked up some blue tape, paint, and a paint brush and was on my way! And don’t think that you have to be an expert to do this. I did this on my own and I honestly rarely paint anything. The one downside was I didn’t really do…any…sanding to the wood which hurt me in the end. I know I know so dumb. I actually did buy something to sand it, but it was totally the wrong thing. I should have just gotten regular sand paper, but the lady working there recommended something that I found out later was for sanding once you are done painting. Awesome. So I just had to do a lot more coats. It honestly was around 4 coats of paint, which sounds ridiculous to me now, but I didn’t really care at the time. We did buy normal sand paper for the linen cabinets, so I ended up using less paint for those. I’m learning! You will see brown blinds that were on all the windows at first. I took those down as well! I added curtains to the main window, and I’ll add roman shades to the side bay window soon.

I have a bunch of pictures in different lighting to give you a better idea of what it looks like. The crazy thing is, everything just blends in now. All the trim matches the baseboards and really opens up the room so much more. Before, you would just stare at the wood trim because it didn’t really match.

Ignore the stickers on the windows, we are getting new ones installed in a few weeks, so that will really update the space as well, and keep our house a lot cooler!

CABINETS

For the cabinets, we took them off the hinges and painted them in our garage. We put tape around the hinges while painting, but are considering replacing those. It’s much easier painting the doors with two people so one can hold them while the other paints. Also, we used a cabinet roller, and did detail work with a brush. Once we had two coats on Andrew attached them back on and I added about one more coat with a brush. On the top of the lower cabinet, we added two little pieces of molding we found at Home Depot to make them look more finished. Andrew attached it with glue. See how magical paint can be?


Living Room Mood Board


Hey guys! Long time no talk! We are slowly but surely getting settled into our new home. It’s nice to actually make a mood board that will work with our space. It’s fun to look on pinterest and see things you like, but you can’t really start planning a room until you are in it! The living room is my current project. It is what you see when you walk in and where we spend most of our time. I am going for a comfortable space with touches of rustic glamour throughout. I love a mediterranean feel as well. So a lot of neutral and wood pieces with greenery and a few pops of jewel toned accents. The pieces I have pulled for are actual things on my list to buy. I have done a lot of searching and these have made the cut. I’ve been loving Joss & Main for really unique finds. I also have been seeing great things on Overstock and Target. French Country Decor


So I have had a little obsession with Fixer Upper on HGTV lately and have fallen in love with JoJo’s design taste. Everything is very French Country. There are lots of feminine pieces mixed with rustic wood finishes giving a very polished, yet relaxed vibe. Believe it or not, all of these items below are from Target.
