I am a Christmas freak. I turn on the Christmas radio station as soon as it comes out (and I may be guilty of popping in my Michael Buble Christmas cd before Thanksgiving). Here are a few pictures of some decorations I put up recently. I hope you enjoy!
^our cute little christmas tree. we actually picked one that was still wrapped to be surprised!^
^andrew and i started a tradition of giving each other an ornament each year. i gave him this golden gate bridge that reminded me of our first trip together (from pottery barn).^
^he got me this cute little polar bear because it reminded him of kaila (from pottery barn).^
^peter pan is andrew’s favorite disney character. (we are disney obsessed.)^
^my mom gave this to us last christmas. it has rose petals from my wedding bouquet inside.^
^i added epsom salts to my candle pillar to mimic snow (centerpiece from pier 1 last year).^
^i love this mirrored frame (similar here) and metallic trees i found at target. you can find the books displayed here and here.^
There is something about layering that looks so effortless. Layering is always in season, yet becomes a lot more common in the colder months. The weather in southern California can be all over the place, a 75 degree day in December is pretty common. To work layers into my outfits, I use lighter fabrics to achieve the same look. This black romper is the definition of comfort. I added in a kimono for some print and color. Black chevron tights and ankle booties make my outfit more winter appropriate. Last, I threw in a studded crossbody back for a little sparkle.
Great food, sparkly drinks and lovely company, what is not to love about Thanksgiving? Another great thing about this holiday, is the chance to throw on a cute outfit. I like to be very comfortable for all holidays, especially when lots of eating is going on! For this look, I paired a cream knit with purple corduroys. The fit of both these pieces is easy, yet the fabrics give some interest. Next, I added a structured camel colored bag to add warmth and a printed infinity scarf to dress things up. For a bit of sparkle, I chose metallic flats, drop earrings and a simple gold bracelet. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving this year and don’t forget what this holiday is all about!
My most recent makeup tutorial is geared towards the holiday season. The holidays are a great time to put your glitter eye shadows to use! For this look, I started with a dark charcoal cream eye shadow as a base. On top, I used a loose eye shadow that has a green/red-brown duo chrome. When you layer a loose shadow on top of an eye shadow base, the color will really pop. I wanted all the focus to be on the eyes, so I used light pinks on my lips and cheeks. This pulled my look together, but still gave the eyes the attention they deserved! So through on your sparkly top and celebrate!
It is finally starting to feel like the holidays! November is flying by and I cannot believe Thanksgiving is almost here. In honor of my favorite time of the year, I put together some of my holiday favorites. From a berry lip to a hydrating mask, these products will get you through these cold and dry months!
