There is something so great about a flowy maxi dress. I love the drama they bring. This one I especially love because of the print. Florals are one of my favorite ways to transition into spring fashion. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, all we see is red and hot pink, but those colors look pretty bad on me. So I like to wear more subtle colors but keep the feminine feel. Do you guys have any plans for Valentine’s Day? Andrew and I have nothing planned, so who knows! The weather has felt like summer lately. It was 92 yesterday and it completely confused me. Where is my El Nino? I’m still holding out! But for the time being I’ll wear some shorts and soak up the sunshine!
I’ve started to love this mauve color! In clothing and in decor. I have to show you my silk curtains in my office soon. There are from West Elm. I usually stray away from anything pink because I’ve never thought I look good in it. If you were to look in my closet I’m pretty sure you might find one pink top in total. But this hue is so much better! I am huge fan of these dusty shades lately. I think they work well with lots of pieces. You can pair with black, white, olive green, and grey. This top isn’t on Windor’s site anymore, just the bodysuit version. But I’ve found similar styles here, here, and here.
I’m still loving my lob haircut. I have a tutorial on it HERE. I like that once I style it, it will last a good 2-3 days. The only bummer is that I notice it growing more, which means more haircuts. Boo.
These sunglasses are by DITTO. This website lets you try out different designer shades and exchange them for a new pair every month! The ones I’m weraing are the Retro Super Future style. If you want to try them out, I have a code to get your first month free! Enter KENDRAVLOGS at checkout!
Hi friends! So today I have another installment of Be Inspired. I love doing these every now and then to reflect on what is going on in my life at the moment. So today’s quotes, like always, have a common thread. I’m working on taking the initiative for many aspects of my life. Mostly work related. A lot of the time I put things off (I tend to bookmark lots of emails) instead of tackling them right of the bat.
I’m also working on developing myself more. I know that is incredibly vague and cliche. I think the whole YouTube and blogging world can get a bit overwhelming at times. You are constantly trying to keep up with everyone else. I want to try to focus on my brand and my content. Nobody is exactly like you, which is why you should take full advantage of that.
The last thing I am working on is seeing the good in people. It is so easy to pass a quick judgement. It’s much harder to let things go and look past what is bothering you. You are in control of how you feel. I think we often think that other things make us upset, frustrated or down. It’s how we respond which really is completely our decision. I know this is getting a bit deep, but it’s getting late and this is what happens! I hope you all find peace in yourselves this week. (I might squeeze in some nighttime yoga…namaste!)
Hey guys! I hope you all are doing well. I have yet another fashion post for you. I have been on a roll with these. I’ve been getting some new pieces and they are too cute not to photograph them! This jacket in sage, is my new favorite. I also have it in olive green and it’s just as cute. I love throwing it over a super casual outfit to add a little flare. It’s also super warm!
And these pants are my new go-to. Seriously they are so comfortable. Stretchy pants, sneakers, and a backpack? Dream!

I still have been wearing beanies and trench coats pretty much on the daily over here! I love this trench from Forever 21 in particular because of how lightweight it is. This is the perfect piece to transition into spring. It still keeps me warm if I pair a thick scarf on top.
I hope you all are having a great week so far! I’m heading up to LA tomorrow and will be staying there all weekend to attend some fun beauty events. I’ll make sure to post some pics on Instagram and Snapchat (kendraatkins)!
Happy Monday everyone! I had a busy weekend. We went to visit our friends who just had a baby and spent the morning with them. Afterwards we drove out to Julian to explore the town a little since Andrew and I haven’t been there before. It was super cute, and super small. We had some coffee and pie which was delicious. We also did a little antique shopping, which has become my new obsession. It is so satisfying when you find something so unique. There is this place on the way out to Julian that is called The Barn I believe. It was so great. I got a few old books and another milk glass vase. On Sunday we drove up to Newport to watch the Hawks game with a friend. What a crazy game! If you watched it, you know what I mean!
Today’s outfit is so warm and cozy. I love starting with neutral colors and then adding in pops of color with my accessories. I have been wearing beanies practically everyday. They keep me nice and warm, and also look super cute. My scarf and top are currently on sale at Loft so hurry before they are gone! They are linked down below! Have a great week guys!
The rain has arrived! I rounded up some cozy favorites that you can shop online to avoid the crazy weather! I am all about beanies and scarves these days. I’m pretty sure you can never have enough of them either. I’m on the hunt for some rain boots and the two pairs I’ve listed down below are calling my name. I’m just not sure if I want tall or short ones. What are you guys’ favorite brand of rain boots?
I hope you all stay warm and cozy today. I also posted my top hair products of the year on my YouTube channel so in case you missed it, head over HERE to check it out!
Happy New Year everyone! I am very happy to start out the new year with a clear head and clean house!! We had a very low key new years with my nieces who flew in from Texas and I was very happy about that! The next day we took our tree and all our Christmas decorations down which felt really good. Our home is now a little more bare but feels nice and fresh. (And I have room for some more ‘normal’ decor…I’m coming for you Home Goods!)
This year Andrew really wanted us to write down some of our goals for the new year and share them with each other. This way we can help each other complete them throughout the year. So I wanted to share mine with you and let you know why I chose the things I did. Okay here they are:
Daily Devotions: I’m the type of person who will go to church on Sunday’s, but that tends to be my only day of worship. I pray at night but I’m really not good about improving and maintaining my relationship with the Lord once I walk out of the service. So I want to make it a point this year to spend time each morning learning more by reading in my Bible and grow a deeper relationship with the Lord. I want my walk to not just be on Sunday mornings but a daily practice. I bought a really neat devotional at Barnes and Noble yesterday and just started it this morning. It’s great because it gives you a little message every day for the whole year. If you guys are interested in it you can find it HERE.
Run: As far as working out goes I like to do weight training, yoga (I also want to join a yoga class this month), and I’ll go on the elliptical a few times a week. But I am not a fan of running. So I want to force myself to get outside and run once a week. It sounds super easy but it’s cold outside! I think if I can just put my workout clothes on and get outside, the hard part it over. Who knows, maybe I’ll end up liking it in a few months.
Tidy Up: If the space around me is cluttered, then my mind is cluttered and I get nothing done. I also hate waking up to a kitchen with plates still out and a living room with cups from the night before still laying around. So I am going to take just 10-15 minutes a night to make sure things are picked up. Make sure the dishes are done, things are put away and wiped down. I know I’ll sleep more peacefully and wake up in a much better mood.
Collaborate: I’ve been doing YouTube for about four years now. Two of them being full time. And after a while in any job you can become stuck in your own ways and unwilling to change. I want to make it a habit to reach out to other YouTubers that I admire and am inspired by. I think this will help me grow as a person and step out of my comfort zone.
Read: Ahhh reading. I’m the slowest reader. EVER. I start a book and who knows when I’ll finish it. Unless it’s really really good. I finished Gone Girl super quick but some other books I’ll start and then never finish. I want to start getting to bed a little earlier each night and just read. I’m on the computer so much that I know this will help to unwind me at night and just feel better. There is something very satisfying about reading a book. (finishing it helps too!) I’m currently reading The Happiness Project and so far I really like it.
Leave the Office: So I work from home, which makes it very hard to separate work from home. This year I want to treat it more like a 9-5 job. I know that sounds weird so I’ll explain. Some days I’ll wake up and head straight to my office to respond to emails and get some things done that may not have gotten done the day before. But I will still be in my pajamas, face not washed, teeth not brushed. Before I know it, it’s 10:00 and I’m still a slob. So I want to wake up, have my breakfast in the kitchen, not in front of the computer, and get ready for the day. The other thing I need to do is check out once 7:00 hits. I can tend to work late to either get ahead or just because I feel like it, but then what happens is I stress myself out for nothing. I need to be done for the day and spend the rest of the night with my husband, making dinner and getting other household things done.
Learn Calligraphy: I think this has been on my resolution list for three years and no, I still don’t know calligraphy. I really want to challenge myself to learn something new. I also would love to address our Christmas cards this year myself!
Be Positive: It is very easy to speak poorly about someone and pick out their flaws yet it is harder to compliment people. Why is that? I think we become selfish and like to make ourselves feel better by pointing out others’ shortcomings. I want to work very hard this year on saying no to bitterness, negativity and gossip. When you invest your time with negative thoughts you will become unhappy. But on the flip side, raising people up and having a positive outlook will do a lot more good. I hope to make this year the year of optimism. I tend to look at the negatives before I look at the positives, so I want to really try to change that.
Here’s to another year with new opportunities and fresh starts!
Merry Christmas Eve everyone! This morning I wanted to share some pictures of our holiday decor! I felt like this was such a long holiday season full of parties, decorating and so much sugar! Andrew and I were at Disneyland the other day and it was swamped with people. I think we hit a wall and realized we need a break from both Disney (I know shocking!), and also people. Christmas functions become a bit overwhelming at times and I think January is such a great time to regain your energy and clarity for the new year. So with that said, time to show you some pictures of our decor. It isn’t a ton, but we have been in apartments up until this year so I never really bought too many things for Christmas. I might go shopping after Christmas to get some more things for next year!
We got a fake tree this year from Lowes. I wasn’t even planning on it, but when we saw how real it looked we thought it was a no-brainer. We ended up getting the 7.5 foot one and it fits perfectly. I also love not having to water it! Our tree skirt is from West Elm, but unfortunately is sold out. But I love the faux fur look. For our whole tree theme it ended up looking very cozy and cabin-like. Reindeer and flannel wrapping paper will do that! (I found all my wrapping paper from Target this year.)
I love building upon our ornament collection each year. Andrew and I give each other one every Christmas and I always look forward to it! A few places I love to get mine from are Pottery Barn (wait till they go on sale), Michaels, West Elm, and Pier 1.
(mantel decor from homegoods and michaels)
We found new stockings this year from West Elm (again, out of stock…so sorry!). The green one is for our sweet pup and those were the ones we used to use in our old apartments! I found those at Target three years ago.
I am a huge fan of putting greenery everywhere possible! It adds a cozy feel and is super easy. I also love that you can make it your own by sticking some metallic beads or pinecones in it. You can see I don’t like to use very bright decorations. I like them to just blend with our normal decor.
Ah I love this combo lately. Pairing soft neutrals with little pops of color. I clearly am not listening to the no white after Labor Day rule. What about winter whites!? If you guys follow me on Instagram you have seen these sunglasses a ton lately. I think the idea behind this company is pretty neat. You pay $24 a month for designer sunglasses. When you are sick of your pair you just return them for a new style! This whole outfit is made up of super affordable pieces. The scarf is under $20 from Target and is super warm! I also cannot stop wearing these booties. They are super comfortable and I’m really into this camel shade right now. I hope you all have a great rest of your day and Happy Holidays!
