It is finally starting to feel like fall! Today I have a maternity look that is my go to outfit pregnant or not. I love a chunky turtleneck with some tall boots. These jeans are by Paige and are maternity jeans with a stretchy waist. I got them off of Tilden and they have so many options of jeans that are so flattering on your tummy. This sweater is from Marshalls and surprisingly is not maternity. Sweaters are a lot easier to get away with when pregnant since they are usually longer and pretty stretchy. Bring on the cooler weather! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!
We are a month away!!! Holy moly it is getting so surreal to know we are going to be holding our baby girls in such a short time. Even though I feel so yucky I really wanted to have some pictures taken with Andrew to remember this time in our lives. This pregnancy has definitely not been what I was expecting. Ever since we found out it was twins, I feel like we jumped on a rollercoaster of emotions. From awful morning (*more like all day) sickness, to an extremely achy body, the whole pregnancy glow thing just wasn’t for me! But on the flip side, everything with the girls has been above and beyond. They are in the 70th percentile for size and have been so healthy this entire time. With so many risks associated with my type of twin pregnancy, we are very lucky to have had such a smooth ride. I can’t thank all of you enough for your continued support over these last 8 months.
Finally I am here to share my baby shower photos with you all! It was such a beautiful (and hot) day with so much love! Our shower was held in Fallbrook, CA at Myrtle Creek Nursery. There was a tented area where we set everything up. But I’d recommend coming by this nursery for lunch sometime because it is such an adorable spot. You order lunch and it’s put in a picnic basket for you to take anywhere on the nursery to enjoy. We had around 45 people attend the shower from friends to family. The main thing I wanted was a romantic and rustic vibe, and it truly was just that. My mom found the pink table runners on amazon, and her and a friend made the plant party favors. The tags were from Etsy. Our plates, flatware and glassware were from Casa de Perrin and completely made the tables! My dad cut a ton of eucalyptus from their backyard and we used that on top of the runners along with homemade flower arrangements in mason jars.
My dress is from Asos maternity and I absolutely loved it. I ordered a size up (because I’m gaining a whole lot of weight with these twins). But I think I’ll be able to where it post babies too. And my shoes are from Sole Society, which I where with pretty much everything. Where heals was a big deal for me. They came off right when the shower was over, don’t get me wrong! My feet were aching bad! Lately my whole body has been super achy and I am ready for the babies to come out already!
I’ll have a video on some of the things I got at the shower, because I know a lot of you want to see! But for now here is a short video of the shower. I hope you all enjoy!
Hey everyone! Today I have a post on something very important to me which is ingredients! Especially since being pregnant, I find myself wanting to be extra cautious of what I’m putting on my skin. I chatted with ‘The Choosy Chick’ on what to avoid when looking for skincare. Below are something things to watch out for! I also included a few of my favorite products from their site that I know you will love too. Make sure to check out The Choosy Chick for amazing hand-picked green products! (coupon codes are at the end of post!)
I have been testing out the MUN skincare and it’s worked great with my skin. My favorite from the trio is the Brightening Youth Serum. Especially as we head into the cooler months, I’m loving oils on my skin at night. They pump up the moisture and keep my hydrated until the next day. The Mint Your Feet by Kosmatology has been a lifesaver for my achy preggo feet! It has a soothing blend of essential oils that add a cooling effect. I tend to use this at night when I’m getting ready for bed or watching tv. The Nudus lipsticks intimidated me at first because I thought they would be too dark for my lips. But I has happily surprised once I applied them. They give a more sheer wash of color and are in very flattering shades. My favorite is Naked. Last is the Kari Gran sunscreen. Love! It has more of an oily consistency but rubs right into the skin without leaving a white cast. I can’t go a day without it!
Ingredients to Avoid in Skincare
Most skincare products on the market today contain a cocktail of chemicals that have not been tested for safety and many are linked to hormone disruption, neurotoxicity, fertility problems and cancer. Get to know the ingredients in personal care products and avoid the offenders where you can, even when NOT pregnant. Many ingredients are passed to the fetus in utero, found in cord blood and breast milk. As a result, babies are being born “pre-polluted” with numerous toxins stemming from a variety of sources.
While there are lots of concerning ingredients, here are a few troublemakers for expectant mothers:
Synthetic fragrances often contain hundreds of different ingredients that do not need to be disclosed. Many contain Phthalates (pronounced “thalates”). Dibutyl Phthalate and Diethyl Phthalate are inexpensive chemicals used in plastics to make them more flexible and are also used to make fragrances last longer. They are quickly and easily absorbed through the skin, and in lab experiments have been known to interfere with hormone production, decrease sperm count, and cause developmental defects. The European Union classifies Dibutyl Phthalate as being toxic to the reproductive system because it may cause harm to the unborn child and impair fertility. Diethyl Phthalate is also suspected of interfering with hormone function, causing reproductive and developmental problems, and is linked to early puberty in girls. Avoid the broad term, “fragrance” on ingredient labels and look for products with no scent added, or scented with natural ingredients like essential oils.
According to the Breast Cancer Fund, research has found many of the chemicals in sunscreens disrupt the endocrine system and may play a role in breast cancer development. Oxybenzone is rapidly absorbed through the skin and is linked to hormone disruption and low birth weight in babies. Homosalate, a hormone disrupting UVB blocker is estrogenic. Instead, choose sunscreens with safer mineral blockers like zinc oxide.
Commonly found in hand soap, toothpaste and other products with “antibacterial” properties. According to The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, Triclosan can cause endocrine disruption and be especially harmful for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Some studies raise concerns that exposure to Triclosan may contribute to making bacteria resistant to antibiotics. The FDA recently issued a notice that when washing, plain old soap and water is best.

We have made it to 25 weeks! I just had a check up appointment with my high risk specialist and everything is going perfectly! I feel so fortunate that the babies are both growing at the same pace and we haven’t had any complications yet. With another week comes a bigger belly! I am starting to feel very achy at night and sleep is not so fun anymore. Not many clothes are fitting, so I’ve been living in dresses and pj’s! Don’t be fooled by these shoes, they were not on long! For all you pregnant ladies out there, what have you been wearing? I have been trying to not buy many maternity clothes, but I think that’s becoming my only option! Let me know some of your favorite stores in the comments section.
How adorable is this black heart necklace? I got it from Mejuri and love how delicate it is. I’m all about finding pieces that are versatile and that layer well. This necklace is the perfect addition!I wanted to thank you all for your kind comments on my recent YouTube videos. Your support has helped so much during this pregnancy. I’m so grateful for all of you and am excited to share a new chapter with you once the babies are here!
Well hello everyone! I’m pretty sure I haven’t posted any outfit pics since being pregnant. Most of that is because I was so sick that I never felt up to getting ready! These photos were taken at the 20 week mark. My belly has really started to pop out and it is so crazy to see. This dress isn’t maternity but is super stretchy so it works! It has become so hard to get dressed in the mornings! Not much is fitting anymore so if you have some maternity websites that you love please let me know! Also, ever since getting this purse I’ve used it every day. It is the perfect size and looks cute with everything!
So many of you know, if you follow me on instagram or youtube, that Andrew and I are expecting twins this December. I wanted to share with you all the details from our Gender Reveal Party that we had about a month ago. We had such a great time celebrating with our friends and family. If you are expecting a baby I would definitely recommend having a party like this because it gets everyone excited.
I bought these large chalkboards from Hobby Lobby and painted the frame white. Then I used chalk board markers to write everything. It was fun to see what everyone predicted our twins to be. *We know that the twins are identical which is why they can only be boy/boy or girl/girl.
For our drink set-up we had a mimosa bar, water, pink lemonade (with blueberries to make it pink and blue) along with iced tea. For the mimosa bar we used mango, pomegranate and orange juice.
These pitchers were my friends but I am pretty sure she got them from Costco.
I really wanted to have a chalk board with some wives tales that predicted what the gender would be. I just googled some popular ones and then circled which ever applied to me. (Not sure if these apply to twins!) For food we had fruit, veggies, artichoke dip, a cheese platter, meatballs and turkey wraps.
I had this cake made for me at a local bakery and I love how it turned out. The cake topper is from etsy along with the cupcake toppers. After we all mingled and ate, it was time for the reveal!! (A friend of mine put the boxes together for us. I gave her the results after a doctor’s appointment, and she was the only one who knew!)
I was so shocked. I really thought we’d have boys. But clearly what do I know?
Here is a video of the day, and you can see us opening the boxes!
I’m excited to share with you all that I am pregnant! My husband and I were so happy when we got a positive pregnancy test! The crazy thing is, at our first doctor’s appointment we found out there isn’t just one baby growing inside of me, but TWO! Now I have a million questions and concerns going through my head at all times of the day. So I wanted to share how I found out I was pregnant and also some of my symptoms. (They have changed drastically!)
Currently I am 9 weeks and 2 days, so I’m not out of my first trimester but it was getting so hard not to say anything. I know it’s a little risky spreading the news a little early but I also was feeling sheltered and on my own. The day I posted on Instagram, I got so many well wishes and great advice from you guys. I think it made me feel better knowing I’m not alone in this and having the support felt amazing.
I ended up taking two pregnancy tests on a Monday, and I wasn’t supposed to start my period until that Thursday. But I had been feeling a little different for a few days. I was very crampy and moody. I usually don’t get cramps until the day before or day off my period, so I knew it was a little odd. I ended up taking my first test (a cheap one from the dollar store) late in the day around 2:30, so I knew the chances of it being positive were low. Yet, two lines filled in right away. I honestly couldn’t believe it. So then, I used one of the more expensive digital tests to make sure. Three minutes later there was a big YES on the screen!
Symptoms weeks 1-4:
-very moody, emotional and easily irritated
-tired around 4
-starving all the time
Symptoms weeks 5-8:
-nauseous throughout the day, comes in waves (NO FUN)
-no food sounds good, but always hungry
-very tired most of day, bed around 9:00
I’m excited to share this journey with you guys and also learn from your experiences! Praying for a safe pregnancy and two healthy babies!
